Dilemma, 2013
Edited by Edit András
A touring exhibition of one of the most important representatives of contemporary art in the Central and Eastern European region was at all its sites (Budapest, Košice, Brno) at home and, at the same time, a guest; in all the sites it was a statement made from both the inside and the outside, corresponding to the transnational position of the artist. Ilona Nemeth is a Slovak artist of Hungarian nationality, whose artistic career began in Czechoslovakia, who regularly exhibits in Slovakia as well as in the Czech Republic, and who is also considered part of the Hungarian art scene.

“Môj projekt spočíva vo vytvorení hmly, ktorá by sa objavila na námestí s istou pravidelnosťou a vytvárala by stále sa meniaci objekt, ako aj udalosť- performance. Svojou dočasnou prítomnosťou by nezaťažovala námestie a vhodne by nadväzovala na tradíciu demonštrácií a akcií politického, ale aj spoločensko-zábavného charakteru, ktoré sa tu udiali.”

Németh Ilonával beszélgetnek: Baglyas Erika (képzőművész), Mélyi József (művészettörténész, AICA), Koronczi Endre (képzőművész), a beszélgetést moderálja: Hushegyi Gábor (szlovákiai magyar művészettörténész, művészeti író)
Az esemény a 2011 őszi, Ernst múzeum-beli – kiállítás körülményeit járja körül. Lehet-e jól dönteni egy lelkiismereti kérdésben, ahol a dilemma gyökere maga is összetett, soktényezős probléma?
A dunaszerdahelyi képzőművész, Németh Ilona eredetileg az Ernst Múzeum egész terét egy nagyszabású installációvá alakította volna át. Ám az előkészületek előrehaladtával egyre kevésbé tudott azonosulni ezzel a tervvel, ezért saját koncepcióját gyökeresen megváltoztatva, egy olyan mű elkészítése mellett döntött, ami sokkal inkább reflektál a megvalósulás körülményeire, az alkotó személyes döntésének motivációira, a kulturális környezetre, mint az eredeti koncepció tartalmára.
